Public Servants Salary Increase 2024/2025

The majority of unions representing public sector workers at the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) have agreed to a salary increment proposal from the government. The overall high cost of living was the basis for the demand for a 10% pay rise; the installation of PMDS will allow employees who reach their usual objectives to get a 1% notch raise, as well as a bonus for those who surpass their targets. Deciphering the Final Proposal from Employers

The newly ratified salary adjustment agreement for the years 2024/25 introduces several key benefits for employees within levels 1 to 12, as outlined in the most recent arrangement:

  • The deal comprises a two-year agreement spanning both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years.
  • Employees are set to receive a pensionable salary rise of 7.5%, structured in the following manner:
  • The existing non-pensionable cash bonus, equivalent to 4.2% of the baseline salary, will be converted into a pensionable form.
  • There will be a uniform salary increase of 3.3% for all staff members.
  • The standard 1.5% pay progression for eligible public service workers will be maintained, and applicable across various departments.

Starting from April 1, 2023, the current non-pensionable cash allowance will be restructured into a pensionable salary increment, ensuring that this change does not negatively affect any employee’s actual take-home pay.
