The NSFAS Funding is a bursary scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training for those who do not have the financial means to fund their studies and cannot access bank funding, study loans or bursaries. NSFAS Application Opening Date 2024/2025
The National Student Financial Aid, NSFAS Online Application 2024-2025 academic session is going to be available in November 2023. Students seeking financial support to further their higher education should visit www.nsfas.org.za online application portal 2024 and submit their applications.
NSFAS Application deadline for 2024 is January 31, 2024. Therefore, Applicants are urged to go to all NSFAS platforms for the latest updates.

Step-by-step on How to Apply for NSFAS Online 2024
Follow the guide below to apply online for NSFAS 2024;
- Create a profile:
Create a myNSFAS account via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or download the NSFAS App on Google Play or App Store. Use your ID number as your username.
- Apply:
Click on the “Apply” tab to update your personal information and upload your application supporting documents, as indicated.
- Complete:
Submit your complete application. Submit your complete application before the closing date.

Documents Required To Apply For NSFAS 2024
All NSFAS prospective applicants are required to submit supporting documents. The documents required are:
Students with disabilities must provide:
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
Students recognised as vulnerable children must provide:
- An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker.
Other documents that may be required, if applicable:
- Retrenchment letter
- Death certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage certificate
- other documents may be required for appeal purposes, retrenchment letter.
Once your application has been submitted, NSFAS will assess your application and give you feedback via SMS or email to inform you of your application whether successful or unsuccessful. You will then be asked to check the status of your NSFAS application for the 2024 academic session.
