Who Can Apply For NSFAS 2025-2026

You are eligible for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen planning to study in 2025 or are currently enrolled at a public university or TVET college and meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizens or permanent residents

SASSA grant recipients
  • Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
  • Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.

Who Should Not Apply For NSFAS 2025-2026

  • Students who have already applied for and obtained funding,
  • have not yet graduated from their current qualification, and do not intend to change sectors (TVET College to University or vice versa).
