NSFAS Application Opening Date 2025/2026
Are you seeking to apply for NSFAS? Then the time is NOW!!!!. The application portal of NSFAS will soon open and start accepting applications for the 2025/2026 academic year. Therefore, if you are eligible and in need of financial assistance from NSFAS, your chance is NOW, you may submit your application from now until January 31, 2025.
Applicants must note that NSFAS may not accept late applications for the 2025/2026 academic year, therefore all applications and supporting documents must be submitted before the application deadline.
Qualification Criteria For NSFAS Funding 2025/2026
NSFAS Applicants must meet the following Standards before applying for financial assistance;
- South African citizens or permanent residents
- SASSA grant recipients
- Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
- Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.
- Must have an email account and cell phone number.
You may Not Apply For NSFAS if:
- You have already applied and received funding in previous years,
- have not yet graduated on your current qualification
- Do not intend to change from one sector to another (TVET College to University or vice-versa).

- Students with disabilities must provide: A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form.
