NSFAS Payment Dates 2024
NSFAS typically follows a structured payment schedule throughout the academic year. However, NSFAS payments will be made on the following dates;
First Semester NSFAS Payment Date:
- Cycle 1 – All Campuses 26 February 2025
- Cycle 2 – All Campuses 06 March 2025
- Cycle 3 – All Campuses 22 April 2025

Eligibility Criteria for the NSFAS Monthly Allowance 2025
To qualify for the NSFAS monthly allowance, students must meet certain eligibility criteria. You qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen who plans to study in 2024 or you are already studying at a public university or TVET college and you meet the following requirements:
- South African citizens or permanent residents
- SASSA grant recipients

Documents Necessary To Apply For NSFAS 2025

Students with disabilities must provide:
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
Students recognised as vulnerable children must provide:
- An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker

- Death certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage certificate
