NSFAS Second Semester Application Dates For 2025
The 2025/2026 online application portal for Nsfas for the second semester will
- open on the 7th of July 2025 and the application will
- close on the 31st of July 2025.
Therefore all applications must be submitted before the closing date as NSFAS may not consider them for 2025-2026.
Students who are currently applying to be admitted into the second semester season in their various institutions can apply for Nsfas in catering for their education.
Eligibility Criteria NSFAS For Second Semester 2025
You qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a South African citizen who plans to study in 2025 or you are already studying at a public university or TVET college and you meet the following requirements:
- South African citizens or permanent residents
- SASSA grant recipients
- Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
- Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.
- Must have an email account and cell phone number.
Application Process NSFAS For Second Semester 2025
The application process for NSFAS bursaries for the second semester is similar to that of the first semester.

Documents Required To Apply For NSFAS Second Semester 2025
NSFAS applicants for the 2024 academic year second semester must submit the following documents as required of them to apply;
Students with disabilities must provide:
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
Students recognised as vulnerable children must provide:
- An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker
Other documents that may be required, if applicable:
- Retrenchment letter
- Death certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage certificate
