NSFAS 2025 Application Postponed
The Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Nobuhle Nkabane previously announced that they will officially launch the National Student Financial Aid Scheme’s (NSFAS) 2025 applications season through a media briefing.
The Minister said she will be joined by the NSFAS Administrator Mr Freeman Nomvalo and learners who will participate in the live application drive at GCIS on 16th September 2024.
From her message, she said the NSFAS application system has gone through several changes and enhancements to ensure a seamless application experience for prospective applicants. The briefing seeks to highlight these enhancement as well as unpack the application process and supporting information needed to complete the application process.
Unfortunately the 2025 NSFAS Application which was supposed to be open on 16 September 2024 has been postponed. The Minister said they will further announce the date for the commencement of the 2025 NSFAS Applications launch.

Documents Require for NSFAS Application 2025
Please, have the following supporting documents ready for the online application:
- Consent form
- Declaration form
- Retrenchment letter
- Death certificate/s
- Divorce Decree
- Proof of legal guardianship
- Marriage certificate
- A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form
Requirements for NSFAS Application 2025
All applicants must meet the following requirements to apply for NSFAS 2025
- You must be South African citizen and permanent resident.
- Your combined household income must not exceed R350 000 per annum
- For a loan: combined household income over R350 000 and below R600 000 per annum.
- Persons with disabilities combined household income must not exceed R600 000 per annum.
How to Submit NSFAS Application 2025 Online
Follow the steps below:
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za
- Click on myNSFAS tab
- Create my NSFAS account profile
- Log in with your ID number & Password
- Click on “Apply” link to start the application
- Fill out the online application form with your details
- Upload your supporting documents as requested
- Complete and submit your application for review
