Application for NSFAS 2025 will be Opening Soon! How Well are You Prepared for NSFAS Financial Aid in 2025 Season?

The management of National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has finally released the 2025 Application dates which will be opening on the 17 September 2024 until 30 November 2024. Therefore, all those waiting to apply for NSFAS 2025 should get ready and submit an online application via www.nsfas.org.za login portal before the closing date. NSFAS may not accept late applications for 2025 so be fast.

All current NSFAS beneficiaries must create an account on the new platform to be able to apply for the 2025. The NSFAS is is committed to providing bursaries and loans to eligible and deserving students who require financial assistance. It is important to remind new applicants to complete the application process from start to finish, instead of merely creating a profile and considering themselves to have applied.

Applicants who applied for the 2024 season must check their application status on the myNSFAS portal. NSFAS has recently updated its list of provisionally funded applicants due to a significant increase in funding.

What does 2025 NSFAS funding Covers?

The NSFAS funding covers the cost of the following:

Registration
Tuition Fees and learning materials
Living allowance
Personal care allowance
Transport or Accommodation

If you are applying for NSFAS 2025 funding and have received a request to submit supporting documents, log into your myNSFAS account to upload the following required documents:

Consent form
Declaration form
Retrenchment letter
Death certificate/s
Divorce Decree
Proof of legal guardianship
Marriage certificate
A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form

Who must apply for NSFAS Financial Aid in 2025?

All South African Citizens and permanent residents.
For a bursary: combined household income must not exceed R350 000 per annum.
For a loan: combined household income over R350 000 and below R600 000 per annum.
Persons with disabilities : combined household income must not exceed R600 000 per annum.
