Qualification NSFAS Fund 2025

A student can only be funded for one qualification at one institution at any one time. The duration of NSFAS funding for a student depends on the type of qualification they are undertaking. The following factors should be taken into account:

  1. Undergraduate Degrees: NSFAS provides funding for undergraduate degrees for a maximum period equivalent to the minimum required years to complete the qualification, plus one additional year.
  2. Extended Degree Programs: Certain undergraduate degrees, such as extended programs, may require additional years of study. In such instances, NSFAS can offer funding for the minimum duration required, along with an extra year.
  3. Subsequent Qualifications: If a student has already finished an undergraduate degree and desires to pursue another qualification, NSFAS may consider providing funding, provided that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
