NSFAS Application Opening Date And Deadline 2025-2026

For the academic year 2025–2026, the NSFAS application portal is currently open from November 21, 2024, and accepting applications from eligible students. The application portal is currently open from Now until January 31, 2025. Therefore, prospective applicants are urged to submit their applications before the closing date as NSFAS may not consider late applications.

NSFAS Application 2025 Eligibility

You must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for the NSFAS late application:

• South African citizens or permanent residents
• SASSA grant recipients
• Applicants whose combined gross household income is not more than R350 000 per year
• Persons with disabilities whose combined gross household income is not more than R600 000 per year.
• Must have an email account and cell phone number.

NSFAS Documents Needed To Apply 2025

Students with disabilities must provide:

• A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form

Students recognised as vulnerable children must provide:

• An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker

• Death certificate/s
• Divorce Decree
• Proof of legal guardianship

Create a myNSFAS account via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or download the NSFAS App on Google Play or App Store. Your ID number will be your username.

• Apply now:

Click on the “Apply’ tab to update your personal information and upload your application supporting documents, as indicated.

• Complete:

Submit your application

How Long Will It Take NSFAS To Answer In 2025?

Candidates will be informed of their funding status for the 2025 academic year after they get their Nsfas status. Institutions will get the funding list for returning students and non-SASSA candidates by February 6th, 2025
