NSFAS Application Requirements 2025-2026

If you want to apply for NSFAS Funding 2025, you must qualify for the following:

Must be a South African citizen / permanent resident
SASSA recipients
Your combined gross household income should not go beyond R350 000 per annum
The Combined gross household income (persons living with disabilities) should not exceed R600 000 per annum
Students who started studying before 2018 with a combined household income of not more than R122 000 per annum.
Must have email and cell phone number.

NSFAS Document To Submit 2025

NSFAS applicants are required to upload the following documents to apply for the 2025/2026 academic year;

Students with disabilities must provide:

A completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form

Students recognised as vulnerable children must provide:

An applicant who is recognised as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development must provide and Vulnerable Child Declaration form completed by a social worker

Other documents that may be required, if applicable:

Retrenchment letter
Death certificate/s
Divorce Decree
Proof of legal guardianship
Marriage certificate
