If you’re planning to begin your studies in 2025, you should become familiar with the NSFAS 2025 online application process. NOTE: All funding applications must be submitted before the closing date as late applications may not be considered.

Applying to NSFAS using the online application form for 2025-2026 is very simple, easy and accurate. When applying online, you will be prompted to make changes to information that are not correct helping you to make sure that you include all the important details when submitting your online application form.
To Apply online for NSFAS 2025, follow the simple steps given below:
Create a myNSFAS account via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/ or download the NSFAS App on Google Play or App Store. Your ID number will be your username.
Click on the “Apply’ tab to update your personal information and upload your application supporting documents, as indicated.
Submit your application
After submitting your application, NSFAS will evaluate your application details to see if you have all the required information needed for them to process your application. You will be notified by them via SMS or email message after evaluation to check the status of your application.
Successful applicants and re-registering students have a year to register at a TVET College or University. If your NSFAS funding application for the 2024 academic year was approved and you failed to register for a full year, you need to apply again during the next application period i.e. 2025-2026 academic year.
