How Much Does Installing Artificial Grass Cost?
For a garden of ordinary size (70 m2), the material costs alone will likely run you between £3,500 and £7,000; when fitting fees are factored in, the price will likely rise to between £3,800 and £7,300. Like the majority of the other varieties, the installation will typically take two days to finish.
How Much Time does Artificial Grass last?
An artificial grass lawn should endure at least 8 to 10 years, while estimates of longevity vary due to a variety of reasons. You may readily anticipate your ever-green garden to last 15 to 20 years with high-quality turf and a little routine maintenance (raking and rinsing).
How to Install Artificial Grass
You must follow these instructions for a successful installation:
Remove the top four inches of your existing base and lawn, then dispose of it by local regulations. Since dirt builds up quickly, having a dump trailer on site is advised.
Next, apply a uniform three-inch layer of class two road base to the area where you plan to lay your grass. Using a road base, we can create a level platform with sufficient drainage.
Run a compactor over the lightly moistened ground to prepare it for the material to be laid.
Depending on the size of your yard, you may want to add a weed barrier and gopher wire to prevent weeds and pests from spreading through your newly planted lawn. Using weed barriers is NOT recommended if you have pets.
The following section is what we’ve all been looking forward to. Now is the moment to claim your new domain!
When rolling out your lovely new grass, be careful not to let it slide across your freshly prepared base. We suggest putting the grass in the sun for 30 to 60 minutes for it to swell. Make sure the blades and stitch patterns are pointing in the same way. Ignoring this would result in an ugly lawn.
A carpet kicker can be used to extend and adjust the turf.
Next, use a box cutter to trim your new lawn to fit the irregular contours of your yard. Leave a quarter to half an inch of turf over the border to help with the finishing touches.
After that, seal the seams with seam tape and glue. The seams need to come together perfectly to provide a clean, natural-looking yard. Make that the blades on each piece of turf are oriented in the same direction and that the stitch rows are spaced identically apart.
Place the red line of the seam tape precisely in the centre of the seam. Next, create a “S” pattern on both sides of the red line with the glue. Once the turf is in place, allow the adhesive to set.
To secure your turf to its three-inch foundation, insert 40-D 5-inch non-galvanized turf nails every six inches after tucking in the border with a putty knife and hammer.
To strengthen these locations, we also advise putting a few nails along the seams. Before adding infill, use a power or push broom to straighten the blades on the lawn. As a result, the blade memory will become more vertical.
The filler needs to be spread next! The look, feel, and longevity of your lawn will all be directly impacted by the proper amount of infill added. To evenly distribute the recommended amount of infill, use a drop spreader.
After the infill is installed, brush the turf using a push or power broom. This will make the blades stand straight and give the impression that the grass has just been mowed on your new lawn. Finally, give the grass a final rinse to remove any last bits of dust.
All that’s left to do is unwind and enjoy your freshly installed turf after washing your lawn and packing up your tools! Never again will you need to worry about waking up early to mow. The only upkeep required is a few times a year of lawn brushing.

Steps To Maintain Artificial Grass Turf
In addition to drastically impairing the aesthetics of your artificial turf, debris-like leaves and branches pose a serious risk to its safety. Eliminate any debris as soon as you find it to lessen the number of trips and falls on your lawn.
Artificial grass doesn’t need to be watered every day, but a little bit of it will still benefit. You can use water to keep fake grass clean while still adhering to any rigorous drought limitations.
Let us assuage your concerns if you’re concerned about how pet excrement will impact your synthetic turf. Cleaning up solid waste from pet turf is much simpler when done on artificial grass than it is on natural grass.
